Ernest Hemingway

The American poetry first arose as an effort by the colonists to serve as their additional voices to the English poetry during the 17th century, prior to the constitutional unification of its 13 colonies. Ernest Hemingway was among the American poets who have gained popularity during his time and up to the present.

Hemingway was an American journalist, author and poet. His understated and economical styles had greatly influenced the fiction writing in the 20th century. Aside from this, his life, adventures as well as his public image also had a significant influence on the later generations.

Most of Hemingway’s works were created and published during the middle of 1920s to the mid-50s. In 1954, Hemingway won the Nobel Prize in Literature. He was able to publish six short stories, seven nobles, two fictions and several poems. Some of his works were published after his death. Hemingway’s works were considered as classics in American literature.

Hemingway once said that “the writer’s job is to tell the truth”. This was the time when he was really having difficulty in writing that he reminded himself about this.
